Did River Capital Contact You?

Who we are, how we found you, and how to check us or stop hearing from us.

Quick answer: if you got a call, text or letter from River Capital, it's most likely because public records connect you to a property. We're a private company that buys houses, including houses with title problems. You don't have to reply, you never pay us anything, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who we are

River Capital LLC is a small, owner-run company. I'm Brandon Wielenga, and I'm the person handling your file. We're a young company, and you can read more about me and the company. We aren't a government office, a law firm, a bank or a real estate brokerage, and we don't collect debts.

How we found you

We look through public records, such as property tax lists, deed records, court and probate filings, and published notices. If an owner has died, those records can point to family members who may have inherited an interest in the house, even if nobody has told them.

Records can be wrong or out of date. If we have the wrong person or the wrong facts, please tell us.

Why we reached out

We buy houses, so we have a business interest in this. It's fair to weigh what we say with that in mind. We'll also tell you your other options, such as paying the taxes, working with your lender, listing with a realtor, or keeping the property.

If this reached you after losing someone, we're sorry. There's no deadline from us, though a county or court may have its own, so it's worth checking those yourself.

What we'll never do

If someone using our name does any of these, please call us at (605) 206-3724 before you do anything else.

Common questions

Is River Capital a scam?

You shouldn't have to take our word for it. River Capital LLC is a real company owned by Brandon Wielenga. You can check our Google Maps listing, read the About page, and ask your own attorney. We never ask you to pay us anything, and you don't have to sell or even reply.

How did you get my name?

From public records, such as property tax lists, deed records, court and probate filings, and published notices. We use those to find property owners and, when an owner has died, people who may have inherited. A record can be wrong or out of date, and if ours is, please tell us.

Why are you contacting me about a relative's house?

Public records suggested you may have an ownership interest in a house connected to your family. We're sorry if this reached you at a hard time. We may have it wrong, and you can tell us so or ask us to stop.

Do I have to talk to you?

No. You don't owe us a reply. If you do want to talk, there's no cost and no obligation, and you're welcome to have an attorney or family member with you.

How do I make you stop contacting me?

Tell us on the call, reply STOP to a text, or email manager@rivercapital-llc.com. We'll remove you from our list.

Will you ask for my Social Security number or bank information?

Not when we first contact you, and never to give you an offer. If you later choose to sell, a title company handles what's needed for closing. Don't give sensitive details to anyone who pressures you for them.
